This engineered mud processing package is purpose-built to handle coalbed methane drilling mud, efficiently separate drilled solids, maintain stable mud density and reduce overall operational cost for on-site drilling operations.
The customer from India focuses on coalbed methane exploration and production. In CBM Drilling operations, fine coal particles and rock cuttings easily contaminate drilling fluid. Without reliable solids removal, the mud properties will deteriorate rapidly, bringing high wear risk to drilling rig pumps and downhole tools. 5-stage Configuration for CBM Drilling Mud Treatment
This complete system adopts a five-stage solids removal sequence. The first phase is shale shaker for primary coarse cuttings separation. The subsequent hydrocyclone units remove medium-sized solids, followed by a vacuum degasser to eliminate gas entrained inside the drilling mud, which is critical for CBM applications with frequent gas influx. The final stage uses decanter centrifuge to strip ultra-fine solids, to keep the mud within target parameters for continuous drilling.
All mud tanks, pipelines and supporting skids are fabricated according to international drilling standards. The modular skid-mounted design allows fast site assembly and disassembly, suitable for frequent rig movement in remote CBM drilling sites across India. Every unit passes strict pressure and function testing before delivery, to minimize on-site commissioning difficulty.
